Coloured engraving showing Hungerford Suspension Bridge. Engraved by T H Shepherd and H S Barnard for Read & Co.'s "Mighty London" series.
Sin títuloThis image shows some inconsistent details such as landward suspension rods.
Sin títuloTaken from the Cumberland Basin. Tetard's flight took place in 1910. Due to the condition and type of photographic print, it is possible that this is a manipulated image that was created decades after the event.
Sin títuloMarked on base 'Made in Germany'.
Sin títuloThe ode is headed with an image of Clifton Suspension Bridge and accompanied by lists of the military, bridge and civic processions. It was originally printed by Jeffries & Sons, (machine printers and lithographers), in 1864 and was republished by J. Hayward and presented gratis with Hayward's Illustrated Family Almanack for 1865.
Sin títuloOne side of the jug is decorated with an image of Clifton Suspension Bridge, the other is inscribed with this poem:
'Here Gentlemen, come try your skill,
I’ll hold a wager if you will.
That you don’t drink this liq’r all,
Without you spill or let some fall.'
